On 8 March 2016, students from the Agriculture Faculty of Jendral Soedirman University had a visit at Indmira. They were members of Unit Klinik Tani (UKT – Farmer Clinic Unit). This science excursion was taken to insipire and introduce them to fields of work that they could pursue in the future.
Starting from the introduction of Indmira as a research-based company on the fields of agriculture, environment, and renewable energy, the students had the opportunity to observe many innovative displays at the facility. The main attraction was the marginal soil farming. This technology had allowed a variety of crops, which currently consisted of rice and shallots, to be planted on coastal sandy soil, former mine soil, peat, and agricultural waste.
The next topic was on hydroponics and guided by Budi Haryono S.Si, a staff member of the R and D division. The participants appeared to be enthusiastic to learn about several hydroponic constructions as well as the various nutrients that have been developed at Indmira.
They were further introduced to Amboja, an Indmira’s subsidiary, that marketed the hydroponic and other farm products that had been researched and optimized by the company. This introduction was hoped to provide the students with the idea that agribusiness had a vast economic potential.
The discussion was continued with the introduction to the company’s products such as organic fertilizers, soil ameliorants, livestock feeds and other farming products. This session also drew a large enthusiasm from the students as they asked many questions to the guide, Tri Wibowo S.P.
Indmira is open to visitors who are interested in our products as well those who want to gain some experience.
