B Plus Training Consultant Visit to INDMIRA

B Plus Training Consultant, a company specializing in training employees of Badan Usaha Milik Negara (BUMN – public corporations) visits INDMIRA. The visit is a part of training program for employees who are close to retirements. The activities consist of tours Amboja Farm and hydroponic and aquaponic facilities, and general discussions.

Ten participants in white T-shirts bearing B-Plus arrive at 10.30 in the morning, Indonesian Western Standard Time. Anik Leane, representing the event committee, greets these guests. And after a quick introduction, she leads them to the packaging and distributing center of Amboja Farm. This subsidiary of INDMIRA markets agricultural products of the company with packaging that can increase the value.

The hydroponic and aquaponic facilities are next stop where the visitors can observe how these systems work. Budi Haryono, a staff member of the R&D team, gives general descriptions of these methods of agriculture as they also can see what kinds of vegetables are grown.

The last session of the visit is held in the conference room on the second floor of the headquarters. Budi Haryono leads this lecture and discussion period. He explains the details of the hydroponic systems, such as wick, ebb & flow, floating, drip, and NFT. Equipment and supplies are also discussed in his presentation, which provide a rough estimate on the cost of the operation for the business analysis part.

He also mentions the requirements for a healthy hydroponic. “There are five growth requirements for hydroponic systems. Those are water, culture system, plant nutrients, roots, and sunlight. “ he adds in closing.
